Our Patio Redo: From Cracked Concrete to Cozy Retreat

Our old concrete patio was cracked, stained, and basically an eyesore. I wanted to replace it with pavers but worried about cost and upkeep. PTG Landscaping’s hardscaping page (linked here) was a lifesaver—they explained how permeable pavers reduce runoff (big plus in rainy Essex) and even included a cost-comparison chart.

We chose Techo-Bloc pavers in a herringbone pattern, and PTG’s advice on edging kept everything from shifting after winter. The page also mentioned adding a fire pit, which we did—best decision ever. Now our patio feels like an extension of our living room, minus the vacuuming.
